Short Bio
I graduated in electrical engineering (MSEE)
from the Politecnico
di Torino, Italy in 1990. From 1990 to 1995, I was a researcher
with Telecom Lab
Italia (formerly CSELT), Torino. In January 1996, I joined
AT&T Labs - Research
in Florham Park,
NJ, as Senior Researcher where I am currently employed in the
IP &
Voice Services Research Laboratory.
My research interests lie mainly in multimodal
and spoken
dialog systems, conversational agents, natural language
processing, multimodal
and speech system architectures, platforms
and services.
I coauthored more than forty papers in the
field of spoken dialogue systems, spoken dialogue system evaluation
and speech recognition. I am a member of the International Speech
Communication Association (ISCA),
the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL),
senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE), member
of the IEEE
Signal Processing Society and member of the IEEE
Computer Society.
